JIM Whittaker has been welcomed on board as finance director at Epiphany Solutions.
Whittaker, previously a director of corporate finance at KPMG and former partner at BTG McInnes, will support existing directors Shane Quigley, Robin Skidmore and Rob Shaw in delivering the Leeds-based search agency’s growth strategy.
Chief executive Shane Quigley said: “This is a new position at Epiphany and is indicative of where we are now in our growth cycle. It reflects our ambitions and confidence going forward.
“Jim brings a considerable amount of financial expertise to the business and will provide invaluable assistance with our expansion strategy.”

BUSINESS rescue and recovery specialist Begbies Traynor has appointed Mark Sims as restructuring manager at its Sheffield office.
Mark has nine years’ experience, spending four years with Hart Shaw Corporate Finance in Sheffield, before moving to Butterfield Fulcrum on the Cayman Islands in 2008, where he worked as a senior fund accountant.
In his new role at Begbies Traynor, he will work within the restructuring team, providing turnaround and restructuring solutions for businesses.

JAMES Pennock has been recruited at the Sheffield office of PwC to lead the tax team.
Having previously worked for PwC in the Thames Valley and London, he has recently moved from Windsor to Sheffield.
Mr Pennock is a corporate tax specialist, advising many listed and private groups across industries as diverse as technology, manufacturing and retail.
He also has extensive experience in international tax.

THE partners at Hull law firm Andrew Jackson have re-elected Rob Penrose and Dominic Ward as managing partner and senior partner respectively.
Mr Penrose, who has been managing partner since 2003, will continue in his role for a third term of three years from September.
Mr Ward, who is head of the firm’s shipping and transport department, began his second three-year term in March.
“The recession has been difficult for many law firms and there are many challenges ahead but also many opportunities; and it is those opportunities that we need to concentrate on,” said Mr Penrose.
