Region’s big turnaround deals compete for awards

SOME of the biggest turnaround deals of the year will be celebrated at an event that will attract more than 400 key players from the region’s insolvency, corporate and finance sectors.

The fourth annual St Nick Awards, organised by buyout and turnaround fund Endless, has a series of new award categories this year including Turnaround of the Year, featuring the deals for Abbeycrest, DavyMarkham, Discover Leisure and Heywood Williams.

The black tie awards, being held at the Aspire venue in Leeds on Monday, December 14, will also see the categories including Turnaround Woman of the Year – nominees include Laura Crawford of Hammonds, Sadie Alton of KPMG, Rachel Blake of Walker Morris, Judith Kinnersley of Barclays, Judith McMath of Burdale and Josie Richardson of KPMG – Recruitment Agency of the Year – nominees include Hitchenor Wakeford, Interim Partners and Sewell Moorhouse.

Garry Wilson, co-founder of Endless, said that the annual awards event, which this year will raise money for Breast Cancer Haven, has already seen a record number of votes and ticket sales reflecting “the heightened interest in the turnaround and restructuring industry in 2009”.
