TheBusinessDesk.com Poll: Manufacturing to lead recovery

MANUFACTURING is the sector most likely to drive economic recovery in Yorkshire, according to the latest TheBusinessDesk.com poll.

Almost half (48%) of respondents who took part in our online poll said they believed manufacturing would lead the upturn in this region.

Respondents said financial and professional services (23%) would also heavily drive growth.

The digital and creative sectors had 18% of the vote, and energy was seen as the most likely economic recovery driver by 11% of respondents.

Ian Briggs, Editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in Yorkshire, said: “It’s clear from our readership that the manufacturing sector is seen as a key driver to economic recovery in the region.

“However, all sectors have a part to play in continuing to build on the region’s ongoing success.”
