Latest appointments: Family law specialist joins Jones Myers; New starters at potato farmers and more

LEEDS family law firm Jones Myers has welcomed family law specialist Norman Taylor to its team.
Mr Taylor joins the firm’s finance team at its Park Square office from Zermansky and Partners where he was senior partner and head of family law.
He brings with him expertise in resolving financial issues arising from family and relationship breakdowns.
Mr Taylor is known nationally and locally as an enthusiastic advocate of non-confrontational, solution-based resolutions of family issues. He is a founder member of the Leeds Collaborative Family Law practice group and a long-standing member of Resolution, the national family lawyers association.
His work in promoting and developing collaborative family law in the region saw his previous team winning the Yorkshire Lawyer Award 2009 for Dispute Resolution.

POTATO farmers and packers Scholes has made two new appointments.
The Driffield-based firm has brought on board Dave Bailey as sales manager and Andrew Hart as potato operations director.
“We are delighted to welcome Dave Bailey and Andrew Hart,” said managing director Richard Scholes.
“They both have great track records. Andrew Hart has superb experience
in the potato industry at director level and as a former Royal Naval Commando, he will certainly have us all organised in ship-shape fashion. It’s great to go into 2010 with such a strong team, having just had our best potato harvest ever.”

SOLICITOR Charlotte Ashton has joined the employment law team at Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office.
Ms Ashton previously worked in-house at a large UK company and advises on a range of employment issues. She has experience in defending employment tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, breach of TUPE Regulations, sex, race, age and disability discrimination.
Ward Hadaway’s employment team advises some of the UK’s leading private and public sector organisations ranging from national retailers and manufacturers to NHS organisations and local authorities.

RACHEL Brakes has joined CO2Sense Yorkshire as planning and permitting project manager to support the development of environmental sector businesses in the region.
Ms Brakes will be responsible for helping businesses understand permitting and licensing issues in relation to the environmental technologies sector and will offer businesses advice on planning application processes. She joins the CO2Sense resource efficiency team from the Environment Agency where she was a senior permitting officer.
CO2Sense Yorkshire is a not-for-profit company funded by Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund. It aims to help businesses to thrive in a low carbon economy by helping environment sector businesses grow through technical support, investment and guidance on how to introduce greener design and environmental management.
Andy Hartley operations director of CO2Sense Yorkshire said: “The role of the planning and permitting project manager is central to our plans to help environmental sector businesses to expand and develop quickly.
“In our experience many great business ideas suffer due to lack of understanding and expertise in planning and permitting issues. LEEDS marketing consultancy Principles Agency has welcomed three new people to its creative team.
Digital designer Richard Welch joins the agency having spent a year in the digital industry. He graduated from Sunderland University in 2008 with a first class honours degree in design, multimedia and graphics.
Laura Seedhouse joins as a copywriter and has four years’ experience of working on high profile accounts across Leeds-based agencies. She will work closely with the account management team.
Designer Emma Sykes has worked within the advertising industry for six years. She joins the agency having spent three years as a freelance designer working across numerous creative and direct marketing campaigns.
