Free invite to launch of Techmesh Digital

FIRMS and professionals operating in the region’s digital, IT and telecommunications sector are being invited to attend the launch of techmesh.
Backed by Yorkshire Forward, techmesh is a new business network for the region’s fast-growing digital sector.
With IT and telecommunications set to make a major contribution to the Yorkshire economy the new business network will provide opportunities for companies, organisations and individuals to meet, exchange information and share best practice.
Guest speakers include Lee Strafford, executive chairman of theNetStartup and founder and former chief executive officer of Sheffield-based internet service provider PlusNet, which was sold to British Telecom in 2007. Mr Strafford is also chairman of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
He is joined by Conrad Poulson, head of startup business development of Orange, which has several divisions in Yorkshire developing mobile software.
techmesh project manager Gary Rowbotham, who recently joined techmesh from Iphone Telecom, said: “This will be techmesh’s first formal event and provides an ideal opportunity to introduce the region’s digital professionals to a new and vibrant business network.
“It is also a great opportunity for guests to network with other delegates and swap business ideas. Both our speakers are very accomplished and have witnessed how start ups can quickly grow to become major companies and employers.”
techmesh aims to grow the IT and telecommunications industry within Yorkshire, encourage innovation and market exploitation, increase the number of businesses participating in the network and help them to increase turnover.
techmesh will run a series of events across the region throughout the year to bring members together at informal networking events.
The first techmesh event will take place on January 27 at The Loft on Cross York Street in Leeds at 6pm.
