FK Group turnover passes £80m

FK Group, Altrincham.

Building envelope contractor FK Group has seen turnover increase 16% in the last year to £82m, thanks to the creation of a London office and growth across all regional offices.

Pre-tax profits for the Altrincham-based business stood at £2.54m for the year to the end of March 2017.

The company established a new central London office in Shoreditch last year, home to its newly created FK project team and a hub for designers and teams working on projects based in the capital and the South East.

The company has also invested in a new larger offices in Doncaster, Birmingham and Newport, where team growth and project wins have led to the need for larger premises.

It has over 180 staff across its six offices, including Dubai. This number has risen from 80, this time in 2014.

As well as increased physical presence, FK has invested significantly in Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology.

Francis Keenan, chief executive of FK Group said the 2017/18 pipeline was solid, with more than £50m worth of projects secured.

Keenan said: “This year has seen solid growth, as we have consistently proven our capabilities in providing the complete building envelope solution.  This, coupled with our clients’ confidence in our performance, has enabled us to further invest in new offices, new technology and our people.

“Skills remains a key issue across our industry and we are looking to ensure we are helping to attract the younger generation through our apprentice scheme and wider training programmes.”

FK Group works with construction clients including Carillion, Buckingham Group, Laing O’Rourke, McLaren, Bowmer & Kirkland and Gazeley.

Established in 1979, the family business’ services range from design, construction through to maintenance.
