North Yorkshire holiday destination plans expansion with new lodges

North Yorkshire holiday destination Barker Stakes Farm plans to add two new holiday lodges to its popular self-catering portfolio in Pickering.

The lodges will be ready for guests to enjoy from Spring 2018 and will enable owners Steve and Sarah Goodfellow, to meet increasing demand.

Set within 16 acres on the banks of Pickering Beck, Barker Stakes Farm offers four star B&B and self-catering accommodation to tourists.

Extending its existing commitment to the firm, Royal Bank of Scotland has provided Barker Stakes Farm with a new six figure funding deal to support costs to develop the lodges. The funding will also refinance some of the company’s existing borrowings, switching all of its facilities to the bank.

Steve Goodfellow, owner of Barker Stakes Farm, said: “We are really excited about our plans for the new lodges. We have seen demand for our accommodation grow rapidly during the last two years and are pleased that we will now be able to increase availability. We are hoping that the lodges will be built and available for occupancy by early next Spring.”

Paul Craske, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to continue to support Steve and Sarah with their plans to extend Barker Stakes Farm. The business is located in a very picturesque, country location but is only a short distance away from some of the regions popular attractions, making it a great base for tourists to the area to choose.

“Barker Stakes Farm is an excellent business and we are looking forward to continuing to work with them as they grow.”
