Mike Ashley to snap up former BHS store in Yorkshire

Mike Ashley is reportedly set on snapping up a former BHS site in Sheffield, with plans to create 300 jobs across the sites he’s bought from the defunct retailer.

The Sports Direct founder plans to turn this and six other sites into stores for upmarket brand Flannels, with in-built gyms.

Following the BHS collapse last year Ashley acquired several sites, Leicester, Watford, Middlesbrough and Saint Helier in Jersey according to The Sun, which cost him an estimated £19m.

He has already bought and rebranded two former BHS sites in Southampton and Sunderland.
