Group chief executive hired at Leeds housebuilder

Leeds-based housebuilder Duchy Homes has hired a new group chief executive in the form of David Jones.

Jones has held senior positions at Ideal Homes and Bellway, and established David Wilson Homes in Yorkshire more than 20 years ago. He held the role of northern divisional chairman until its sale to Barratt Homes in 2007.

In his new role at Thorpe Park-based Duchy Homes, Jones will be responsible for overseeing the group’s divisions in Yorkshire, the North East, North West and newly launched West Midlands division.

David Jones, group chief executive at Duchy Homes said:” Duchy Homes has a fantastic track record of building quality executive homes. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the expansion of their divisions and work alongside Jim Cropper who I have worked with before at David Wilson Homes. It is truly an exciting time to be part of Duchy Homes and contribute to their future expansion and success.

“They have most recently launched a West Midlands Division and are embarking on a period of fast growth and have future aspirations to extend their geographical footprint further across the UK.”

Jim Cropper, group managing director at Duchy Homes said: “DavidJones is a great addition to the Duchy Homes team, with his impressive background in PLC housebuilding and superb attention to detail. David will be focused on bringing continuity across our divisions and cementing the Duchy Homes core values across all developments – these encompass health and safety, great design and customer service. We are also looking to expand our operations further next year and with David’s knowledge and expertise Duchy Homes is well placed to build on our continuing success.”
