Online lingerie retailer reveals HQ site expansion

Online lingerie retailer Belle Lingerie has expanded its HQ site, adding an additional 3,700 sq ft.

The Cleckheaton-based company said that growing demand for its diverse lingerie and swimwear lines had prompted the decision to grow its 6,000 sq ft base on Chain Bar Road.

The warehouse and office space will allow room to manoeuvre for the growing brand, which was founded in 2005 and now employs 20 people, with a turnover of more than £3.5m per year.

It was launched by entrepreneur Janine Dutton, who moved the business to a warehouse unit five years ago, and continues to see the business grow by 30% year-on-year. It has become one of the largest independent lingerie retailers in the UK.

Dutton said of the expansion: “Expanding the unit is a real turning point for us as a business. Not only does it gives us additional space for stock, it has enabled us to create better working spaces for staff and more efficient processes for fulfilling orders and dealing with returns.

“For someone who never really set out to set up a business, I’m really pleased with the way Belle Lingerie has grown and developed and I still have big plans for the future.”
