Sky Betting & Gaming to close affiliate programme

Online gambling group Sky Betting & Gaming has announced the closure of its affiliate marketing programme.

The company, which has a Leeds HQ and customer hub, will terminate the programme by 2 October amid changing regulatory requirements. This see the end of the commission and player referrals with existing marketing partners.

A spokesperson for Sky Betting & Gaming said: “Following a comprehensive strategic review, Sky Betting and Gaming has decided to close its UK affiliate programme. The difficult decision has been taken to give us more control of our marketing outputs and standards to ensure that we can continue to meet the changing regulatory requirements in our sector.

“We have notified all the companies that will be affected by his decision and would like to sincerely thanks them for all their support and hard work in helping to grow and promote Sky Betting and Gaming’s brands since we launched in 200. We will continue to work with our affiliates for the next 30 days and a dedicated team is in place to respond to all enquiries.”

The spokesman confirmed there would be no job losses as a result of the closure of the affiliate programme.
