Singapore investor swoops for historic Harrogate hotel

Singapore-based property and investment company Fragrance Group has acquired the 300-year old Crown Hotel in Harrogate in a £7.2m deal.

In a Singapore Exchange filing, the group also announced the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Fragrance UK-Harrogate, a property investment holding company with paid-up capital of £1m.

Located at Crown Place, Crown Hotel has 115 bedrooms, extensive facilities for conferences, weddings and local events.

It is close to some of Harrogate’s most popular attractions including the Turkish Baths, Betty’s Tea Rooms, Valley Gardens and the Victorian shopping arcade.
