Family team to share their know-how at property lunch

Naveen Ahmed

A father-and-sons team leading the way in the Yorkshire market will be the speakers at TheBusinessDesk.com’s next property lunch on November 30.

Residential and leisure expert Naveen Ahmed and his sons, Shaan and Haaris, who have set up a crowdfunding property business UOWN, will share their knowledge of the sector.

Naveen is managing director of Parklane Group, which includes Parklane Properites and runs aparthotel chain Roomzzz, alongside IconInc, a luxurious student accommodation provider.

With over £15m turnover, the group owns and operates more than 2,000 student and professional beds across the country. At the lunch, Naveen will share his knowledge and insight on changes and challenges in the sector which he has been involved in for more than 25 years.

Shaan Ahmed

Brothers Shaan, 26, and Haaris, 24, will talk about UOWN and their aim to “democratise property investment” and deliver it to people who thought it would never be achievable.

The event is being launched as UOWN has just fully funded its first property, just five months after its launch.

The four-bedroom semi-detached house, located on Eden Gardens in the Leeds suburb of Burley, racked up £189,000 from investors between April-September . Overall 92 people have invested in the house, with an average contribution of more than £2,000 per investor.

Shaan Ahmed said: “The whole point of UOWN is to challenge the old order of property investment and open up this closed shop to the people. There’s clearly a huge demand for this type of investment, especially with current problems in the buy-to-let market, as the hundreds of investors snapping up opportunities on our platform have shown.”

Our June and September networking lunches both attracted more than 120 people from across the Yorkshire property community, so book your tickets now to guarantee a place.

The lunch will be held at Bibis Italianissimo on November 30, 12noon-3pm.

You can can book your place(s)online now.
