Airlines announce extra seats in the wake of Monarch collapse

Several airlines have responded to the extra demand at Leeds Bradford Airport since the collapse of Monarch.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added thousands more winter seats and holidays to Tenerife, with extra Saturday services starting on October 14 and running to the beginning of November. The airline will also schedule two extra weekly flights to Tenerife throughout the winter, resulting in a total of six weekly services and an extra 15,000 seats.

This means that over 435,000 seats on sale for its winter programme from Leeds Bradford Airport, which is a 5% capacity increase.

Meanwhile, Thomas Cook have confirmed they will add a based aircraft at Leeds Bradford Airport next summer and TUI will add around 10,000 extra seats to their summer programme next year.

As Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator we have added extra capacity from Leeds Bradford Airport so that holidaymakers can continue to reach their favourite winter sun destination of Tenerife from their local airport, starting from next weekend. We won’t be stopping at these winter flights, so keep an eye out for further announcements about additional Summer 18 capacity very soon.”
