‘High Speed Growth’ under spotlight at MIPIM UK

Leeds City Region is set to highlight its approach to high speed growth national property and development conference, MIPIM UK.

High Speed Growth and the new Northern Gateway at Leeds Station will be key topics of discussion for the delegation during the two day conference.

With the City Region’s High Speed Growth Strategy due to be submitted to Government in November.

It builds on the HS2 Growth Strategy document published in 2016 and highlights the opportunities and benefits which the investment in transport infrastructure could bring to the City Region.

The region wide strategy looks at the wider benefits of high speed growth including the impact high speed rail will have on regeneration, productivity and skill, and will form the theme of a panel session at Olympia in London during the property and development conference, with speakers currently including Roger Marsh, Ben Still, Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe and Kersten England.

Meanwhile, the City Region’s MIPIM UK attendance on the opening morning will showcase the next phase of developments coming forward across the region including York Central, The Odeon in Bradford and Kirkstall Forge.

The delegation will also highlight how the fourth industrial revolution is disrupting the property industry – from occupier requirements to new innovations in smart connectivity –demonstrating how the Leeds City Region Enterprise Zones are modernising the UK’s largest manufacturing base.

“Our programme for MIPIM aims to reflect our diverse economy and also touch on some of its key drivers for growth, particularly the opportunities provided by our 229ha of Enterprise Zone and the opportunities from our dynamic and growing digital technologies sector.”
