Accountancy firm named county’s fastest growing practice

Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott have been named as the county’s fastest growing practice in a top 100 league table.

According to the Accountancy Age’s annual Top 50 + 50 ranking the York and Leeds-based firm achieved a 18% turnover growth in 2016-17, increasing its fee income to £6.82m during the period.

This is the first year that Garbutt + Elliott has made it into the index of the UK’s top 100 accountancy firms. Despite being a new entrant, it has already outstripped thirty other firms to rank at number 70.

The Top 50 + 50 Accountancy Firms 2017 ranking lists the UK’s top 100 performers by their total domestic income fee, with Garbutt + Elliott being one of 16 other new entrants. The firm was also the only new entrant from Yorkshire.

Garbutt + Elliott managing partner, Russell Turner, said: “It’s extremely rewarding to have the continued dedication and excellent performance of everyone at the firm recognised in this way. We do things differently to other accountants, and our forward-thinking and personal approach continues to enable us to win and retain business across a wide variety of sectors.

“We’re proud to be recognised as the county’s fastest growing accountants, especially as it also marks our first year among the UK’s top 100 firms. This ranking comes on the back of a very successful year for Garbutt + Elliott which has provided us with the platform for further profitable growth.”

In August, the firm announced the appointment of three new partners within its payroll, business services and corporate finance teams, all of whom were promoted from director positions. Garbutt + Elliott now has 11 partners working across its broad client portfolio.

Working predominantly with Yorkshire-based businesses, Garbutt + Elliott operates across a diverse range of sectors including property and construction, manufacturing, food and drink, charities, digital media and creative arts.
