Several Yorkshire sites feature on Heathrow Logistics Hub list

Several Yorkshire and Humber sites have been announced as prospective places for Heathrow Airport’s expansion scheme as a key Logistics Hub.

As part of building the new runway, Heathrow will establish four Logistics Hubs around the UK. The hubs will allow companies around the country to get involved with the project’s supply chain.

Heathrow has now announced the 76 long-listed locations for the Logistics Hubs. The chosen sites will carry out off-site construction work as Heathrow aims to make the first part of the expansion project beneficial to the whole country. The next round of shortlisting will take place in January.

Those in the Yorkshire and Humber shortlist are:

  • Bishopdyke Enterprises, JCT 42 A1(M) – Sherburn in Elmet
  • British Steel, British Steel – Brigg Road
  • Doncaster Sheffield Airport, Aero Centre Yorkshire
  • Leeds Bradford Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport / Logic Leeds
  • Severfield UK Ltd, Dalton Airfield Industrial Estate
