Law firm reports almost 30% rise in turnover

Shulmans managing partner, Tim Halstead

Shulmans has hailed “excellent results” at the mid-point in the year, with an increase in turnover of 28.9% in the first six months of 2017/18.

Turnover for the full 12 months to the half year rose to £14.85m.

The firm has the results show “exceptional trading”, especially in its credit management services division and in the work that it does for banks and other lenders in the remortgage market.  This comes on the back of a solid end of year position, which confirmed a rise in fee income of 7.5% in 2016/17.

Shulmans, which recently hosted Interlegal, a meeting attended by independent law firms from 40 countries across the world who chose Leeds for their annual conference, continues to grow in all aspects of its business, and has reached a major recruitment milestone within the past 12 months.

More than 200 people now work at the Wellington Place headquarters in Leeds, servicing clients on a regional, national and international scale.

Managing partner, Tim Halstead, said: “This half year period has ended with unprecedented results.  We have an ever-growing team, who represent the very best legal talent. We are proud to be inspiring the next generation of lawyers in the region.”
