Adrenaline World plans move forward for Peak Resort site

Leisure entrepreneur David Lloyd has secured planning for the first two locations of Adrenaline World, a new chain of multi-activity parks.

Locations for parks near Crewe and Chesterfield have now received outline planning and submissions for full planning are currently being prepared. The parks will host around 20 indoor and outdoor sports including rock climbing, aerial obstacle courses, bungee jumping, and abseiling.

The second site with outline planning is located south of Sheffield within the Peak Resort, a £400m leisure, health and sports development. Although a submission for full planning is being prepared, construction will not begin for 12 months to align with the development timetable of the resort.

Peak Resort is an integrated leisure, health, sport and education resort on the 300 acre Birchall Estate, Unstone. Infrastructure works started on site in spring 2017 and the development is due to open from spring 2019.

In partnership with Holmes Investment Properties, David Lloyd plans to roll out three parks every year for four years. The company sees the potential to open up to 80 Adrenaline World centres across the UK.

Space for outdoor activities can vary but each location will have a 40,000 sq ft activity centre.
