Grand opening for £25m hotel

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hull – the city’s first ever four-star hotel – has officially opened.

The hotel, which has 165 rooms and a lounge bar, also offers a Marco Pierre White restaurant and ballroom space, which can be used for events, celebrations and conferences.

The hotel’s rooftop bar has been named The Lexington – a reference to the former LA’s nightclub which once stood on the site of the hotel.

Helen Symonds, director of sales and marketing at DoubleTree by Hilton Hull, said the team was excited to welcome the first guests.

“It is fantastic to open our doors and for people to be able to come and stay with us and see this wonderful new hotel,” she said.

“We are especially pleased to have opened before Christmas and during Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

“We look forward to offering a warm and friendly welcome to business and leisure guests from near and far.”
