Law firm welcomes ‘Chinese Amazon’

Leeds law firm Shulmans has welcomed a Chinese delegation from Kaola.com, dubbed the ‘Chinese Amazon’, to its offices in Wellington Place as part of their visit to Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

The web-based retailer visited the law firm to meet several local businesses and to discuss opportunities for Leeds businesses to reach overseas markets and their customers.

Rob Lucas, partner at Shulmans, said: “We were honoured to host Kaola during their visit and are very pleased to have helped with their search for British brands to sell online in China.  We are happy to continue to advise on international trade and hope to be involved in progressing this important opportunity.”

Roger Marsh, chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) said: “I’m delighted Kaola have come to Leeds to meet with Leeds City Region businesses, following our meeting in China in March this year.  I’ve seen first-hand the tremendous opportunity in China and working with Kaola is a great way for our local businesses to enter this market.”
