Peter Kay pulls out of live tour

Peter Kay yesterday cancelled his sell-out tour for 2018 and 2019, due to  “unforeseen family circumstances.”

The comedian was due to take to the stage at Leeds Arena for eight nights next October and also Sheffield Arena for seven nights in April 2019.

Extra nights were put on at the venues due to the demand for tickets – with the comedian set to return to Leeds Arena for three nights in May 2019 and an extra night in Sheffield in May 2019.

However, the event has now been cancelled after the comedian issued a statement saying: “Due to unforeseen family circumstances I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects. This unfortunately includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance For Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.

“My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I’m sure you’ll understand my family must always come first.
“I’ve always endeavoured to protect my family’s privacy from the media. I hope that the media and the public will continue to respect our privacy at this time. Once again I’m very sorry.”

Tickets purchased will be refunded.
