Countrywide Healthcare eyes £20m turnover

Care home consumables and equipment supplier Countrywide Healthcare has reported a £3m rise in turnover as it looks to break through the £20m mark in the coming year.

The Barnsley-based company saw turnover grow from £14.4m to £17.4m in its latest financial year after securing a number of care home supply contracts.

Countrywide said its recent acquisition of Allanda, an online retailer of incontinence products, complements its growing care home business.

Alastair Kitching, managing director, said: “the business underwent a management buyout (MBO) in April 2014, after which we placed a greater emphasis on sales and marketing with a determination to increase our profile and shape the business for future growth. Since the MBO, sales will have jumped from £9.3m to projected sales in excess of £20m for the coming year.”

The company’s workforce grew from 60 to 94 staff in the period.
