Region’s leading property event postponed

One of the region’s best known charity nights, which sees solo singers and groups from leading companies in the property and construction industries take to the stage, has been postponed due to the snow.

The annual charity singing contest, Crypt Factor, was due to be held at Elland Road this evening and was a sell-out event with an audience of 880.

The annual singing competition’s organising committee, comprising of Bruntwood, Gent Visick and Pinsent Masons, have taken the unprecedented and difficult decision for safety reasons, and due to the shortage of trains and taxis that are currently operating throughout Leeds.

TheBusinessDesk.com is the event’s official media partner and additional support is provided by Candid PR, Saville Audio Visual and Anderson Advertising & Property Marketing.

It was expected to raise £80,000 for two local charities, St George’s Crypt and The Leeds Fund of Leeds Community Foundation.

Kate Hainsworth, chief executive at Leeds Community Foundation, said: “I know this has been a very difficult decision for the organising committee, but ultimately it’s the right decision.  We fully support them and look forward to the confirmation of a revised date.”

The organising committee will provide further details in the near future as well as contacting individual companies that had bought tables individually.

Game Changers

This afternoon’s Game Changers event, due to be held at Aspire, has also been postponed due to the weather.

Gary McCall, CEO of Banana Kick, which was organising the event alongside LeedsBID, said: “As I am sure you are aware we have made the decision due to the weather to postpone Game Changers today, as speakers are struggling to get to Leeds and we have had numerous attendees emailing saying that they can’t attend due to the weather/concerned about travelling.”

Leeds Sports Awards

Sport Leeds has announced that due to today’s inclement weather, a decision has been made to postpone the Leeds Sports Awards. Over 800 people were due to attend the event at the First Direct Arena.

Gary McCall, chief executive of event organisers Banana Kick, said: “Our absolute priority is the health and safety of all of our attendees and staff. This is an important event for the city and we will be re-arranging the 2018 Leeds Sports Awards at the earliest opportunity.”

A re-arranged date will be announced in the very near future.
