Laboratory and residential divisions created at Southerns

Leeds-based interior solutions provider Southerns Broadstock has announced the launch of two new specialist furniture divisions.

Southerns Broadstock has created a laboratory division, which will specialise in the creation of laboratories for the education, healthcare and commercial sectors. The firm has also launched a residential division, focused on delivering schemes to organisations in the hotel and leisure, healthcare, education and lettings industries.

Ross Miller, newly appointed head of laboratory and residential at Southerns Broadstock, said: “The laboratory and residential furniture sectors are growing rapidly and offer many opportunities for the business.  I’m pleased to say that trade is quickly gaining momentum and we have already won a large contract with University of Kent to refurbish 273 student bedrooms.

“As one of the UK’s leading furniture manufacturers and distributors it makes complete commercial sense for Southerns Broadstock to create dedicated laboratory and residential furniture divisions.  We have developed a full service offering in each department, enabling us to offer our clients a complete design, manufacture and installation service in both sectors.”

Jon Stoney, Southern Broadstock sales director, said: “With over 18 years’ experience and a great reputation within the industry, we knew that Ross was the person we wanted to lead our new laboratory and residential furniture divisions.  His expertise and skills in these industries mean that he is well placed to lead and develop our new specialist offering and we are looking forward to further establishing the brand name within these sectors.”
