City council snaps up business park building

A 10,600 sq ft office building near Leeds Bradford Airport has been sold to Leeds City Council.

The open‐plan, two‐storey office space is on Rawdon Business Park and has been acquired by the council to accommodate its estates team and will function as a North West Leeds hub.

Eddisons acted on behalf of estate management company Adam Management to market and sell the property, jointly with GVA.

Eddisons agency director Steven Jones said: “The central Leeds office market is becoming increasingly heated, with occupier take up surpassing 1m sq ft for the first time last year.

“We are also seeing a shift in the dynamics of the city centre property market as the council continues to sells off some of its large, long established properties and looks beyond the
city centre for value for money long‐term investments.”

He added: “There is a real lack of quality accommodation at present, particularly for owner occupiers, with a severe and worsening shortage of grade A office space.

“This property, on Rawdon Business Park, very close to the airport and with good links to bus and rail routes, is an excellent, accessible location and a really sound purchase for the city council for their North West Leeds team.”
