Nuffield Health has chosen thebigword, based in Leeds, to provide language services to its network of hospitals, medical clinics, fitness and wellbeing clubs and diagnostic units.

The UK’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organisation operates sites across the UK, including more than 100 sites which need interpreting and translation services on a regular basis.

Larry Gould, founder and executive chairman of thebigword, said: “In the UK, the demand for health and wellbeing care continues to grow, driven by an ageing population and increasingly unhealthy lifestyles.

“Our expert linguists will help Nuffield Health in promoting health and delivering connected medical care to its customers in their preferred language.

“In a healthcare setting, being able to communicate effectively can make all the difference between life and death.

“This win strengthens our position as a leading language services provider in the healthcare industry and wellbeing market.”
