Harrogate-based trade marketplace The Great British Exchange, which sources innovative British-made products for high street retailers, has expanded its producer management team with two appointments.

Hannah Cross will work with UK designers and manufacturers to help them list their products with The GBE and showcase their brands to retail buyers. Tom Williams will be responsible for account support, compliance, logistics and fulfilment once new brands are on board.

Matthew Hopkins, managing director of The Great British Exchange, said: “Maintaining strong relationships with our producers is key to our success and keeps us in touch with the latest innovations in British design and manufacturing,”.

“Hannah and Tom will work together to bring new brands to The GBE and help our retail team meet their targets for supply volume and delivery to store.

“By cultivating a streamlined producer network and well-managed supply of goods, we can generate time and resource savings for trade buyers and offer them logistical solutions, curated collections and a simple order process through a single account,” he added.

Technology firm yboo has recruited a new project manager, Gabrielle Caves, along with a social media intern, which has resulted in the need for an office expansion.

Caves will be working on engaging the end user and recording their experiences, as the firm strives to bring their app to 60m smartphone users in the UK. She previously worked in financial services attracting the attention of millions of consumers to competitive mortgage deals.

The firm, which was founded in 2016 by Martyn Gould and Paul Doyle and is based in Holmfirth, is also looking to recruit three software developers to join the growing team.

Gould said: “In the last few months we have gone from strength to strength; in addition to our recent investment announcement, we have taken on Gabby – who I’m sure will be a huge asset to the yboo team. We have always been committed to bringing job opportunities into the Holme Valley, and with the need to further recruit for software developers and a social media intern, we have expanded our office space in Holmfirth.

“Exceeding our growth plans for this month means that we are on track to pursue our international expansion plans in the Middle East and in Australia over the next year. In addition, we will be launching our B2B portal this month which we anticipate will have a huge impact on UK mobile operators and their propositions”

Sheffield confidential waste and recycling firm Russell Richardson has appointed a new operations manager.

Simon Harrison takes over the running of the Attercliffe company’s nationwide collection fleet and warehouse and its mega shredder, which destroys up to seven tonnes an hour.

Harrison was previously a deputy manager for global logistics company XPO Logistics.
The confidential waste shredding, archiving and recycling company is now seeing over 200 tonnes of paper waste arrive at its Attercliffe headquarters each weekly – more than double that of two years ago.

The new site on Park House Lane triples the company’s base and the move will be phased over four months to avoid down-time

Russell Richardson’s MD Jonathan Richardson: “Simon’s skills have been honed with a multi-national company and make him a major asset to the team. He has many years of experience and has managed large teams, and his background in engineering is another major benefit to us.”
