Accountancy firm secures new city centre office space

A boutique accountancy practice is set to move to a 12,000 sq ft Leeds city centre office space to support its expansion.
Murray Harcourt has signed a 10 year lease on over 12,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation at 6 Queen Street in the city centre. The firm is currently based further along Queen Street, within Elizabeth House.
With offices in Harrogate and London as well as Leeds, the move to 6 Queen Street is to accommodate expansion and raise the profile of the practice.
The deal was secured by Carter Towler. Director Richard Fraser of Carter Towler said: “We are delighted to have let the entire ground floor to Murray Harcourt. Ever since plans to speculatively develop the offices were announced in 2014 there has been a real buzz about it; initially because of the bold move the developers, CDP Marshall and Rockspring made in actually going ahead with the development, then because of the major letting of approximately 50,000 sq ft to Burberry.
“Then, earlier this year, the building was sold in an off-market deal to the Swiss Life European Properties fund. It has been fantastic for Carter Towler to be involved in the marketing of this fabulous building.”
The building is located in the heart of the Leeds business district and provides a total of 70,940 sq ft of Grade A offices over six floors with three private terraces and basement car parking. Only the first floor, comprising 12,688 sq ft, now remains available.
Ned Pumphrey, fund director at Mayfair Capital Investment Management Limited, part of the Swiss Life Group, added: “The fund is delighted to secure this letting so soon after acquiring the investment which endorses our purchase rationale.”
Richard Bright, managing partner at Murray Harcourt said: “Our business philosophy is simple – we are client focused, swift to respond and provide specialist advice and support services. We want to stand out from the crowd and we are delighted to have an office that will help us do that.”
Knight Frank acted as joint agents with Carter Towler on behalf of Rockspring and Swiss Life. Bowcliffe acted for Murray Harcourt.
