H&M announces new store opening at retail park

A brand new H&M store is set to open in The Springs, Thorpe Park, Leeds later on this month.

Covering a floor space in excess of 1,544 sq ms, based over two floors, the store will open its doors to customers at 11am on 11 October.  

Toni Halli, H&M’s country manager for UK & IE, said: “We are delighted to be opening a brand new store at The Springs, Thorpe Park, Leeds this October.

“We aim to provide our customers with the best shopping experience possible and we are confident that our new Leeds store will offer exactly this.”

H&M, which opened its first UK store in 1976, currently has a portfolio in excess of 264 stores across the UK and Ireland.

Thorpe Park Leeds comprises 800,000 sq ft of development built and occupied to date, including 600,000 sq ft of offices.

A £162m investment deal with Legal & General Capital in 2015 secured a transformational 1.35 million sq ft mixed-use expansion, bringing forward new business opportunities to the Leeds City Region.

Phase two includes the 350,000 sq ft retail and leisure park as well as a further 900,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation, 300 new Redrow residential homes by Redrow and a 113-acre public park with sports facilities.

The development has dedicated access to Junction 46 of the M1 and has been chosen for the new railway station, ‘East Leeds Parkway’ and associated Park and Ride, connecting Thorpe Park Leeds directly to Leeds city centre in eight minutes
