Biekeller venues hit the market following administration

Following the administration of Burning Night Group, a leisure property firm has been appointed to dispose of the Bierkeller venues.

Joint administrators Andrew Mackenzie and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor were appointed to the Leeds-based bar group on 28 September.

Burning Night was established eight years ago and operated six themed bars and restaurants.

The six sites are located in Leeds, Harrogate Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Harrogate and encompass the brands Bierkeller, Around The World, Shooters Bar, a Smokin’ Bar & Kitchen and The Potting Shed.

Employing more than 500 staff nationwide and with an annual revenue in excess of £25m in 2017/2018, Bierkellers make up a large part of the operational business of the Burning Night Group.

On behalf of administrators Andrew Mackenzie and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor, Davis Coffer Lyons will market the Bierkeller venues.

All sites are available leasehold, either individually or as a group. A Bierkeller venue in Cardiff located at the Millennium Stadium has closed. The remaining sites will continue to trade as normal throughout the sales process.

Paul Tallentyre, executive director, pubs and bars at Davis Coffer Lyons, said: “The group of venues include some fantastic sites in great condition with the potential to roll the Bierkeller concept out in other cities.”
