People: Director promotion at Armstrong Watson; Property development firm strengthens its team; and more

David Hush has been promoted to the position of Director within Armstrong Watson LLP’s Restructuring Recovery and Insolvency team.

Hush has over 18 years of debt advisory and personal insolvency experience and moved to Armstrong Watson in 2015 from a large national firm of accountants to set up the firm’s national creditor services offering. His team, which specialises in assisting creditors with all aspects of insolvency and in securing high value personal insolvency appointments, has continued to make a significant contribution to the Restructuring Recovery & Insolvency service line.

He is a member of the Civil Court Users Association and often advises banks, ABLs, local authorities, regulatory bodies and debt recovery/litigation specialists.

Mark Ranson, Head of Restructuring Recovery and Insolvency at Armstrong Watson LLP said:“David is a well known and well respected figure within the personal insolvency marketplace. This promotion is well deserved and is in recognition of the valuable contribution the Creditor Services team lead by David has made both to the firm and its clients since he joined the firm”

Hush added: “Armstrong Watson has established itself as one of the leading independent firms of accountants in the North of England and Scotland, and its success is down to the talented people within it. I would like to thank my team for their continued help and support and I look forward to the further opportunities that will be available to us in the near future.”

Property development and investment company Glentrool Estates Group has strengthened its property team with the appointment of Lauren O’Toole.

O’Toole joins Glentrool from the Leeds office of property consultancy JLL, where she specialised in industrial property. She previously worked at Adair Paxton and Carter Towler in Leeds.

“The opportunity to work for Glentrool and see things from the client side of the table was hugely interesting and a completely new challenge for me.  Glentrool have a 20-year track record, a strong reputation within the market and own such a varied portfolio I knew it would be an interesting and exciting prospect,” said O’Toole.

“My role as the Property Portfolio Manager will be across the assets across Glentrool.  This will involve the asset management of the current investment properties, working with our tenants and filling voids as they arise, as well as the new 75-acre logistics and manufacturing park at Sherburn2, which is a fantastic project to be involved in.

“I will be growing the portfolio through further acquisition of investment stock with the support of Rothschild and Co and I will learn more about the complexities of asset management, development and investment.”

Jeremy Nolan, director of Ilkley-based Glentrool Estates, added: “We are delighted to welcome Lauren to Glentrool. She joins at an important time for the company as we continue to expand and embark on new developments.

“Lauren’s expertise and experience will be a huge asset for us. She will be part of a small, but very dedicated and talented, team.”
