Commercial law firm targets £2m turnover with expanded workforce

A Harrogate-based commercial law firm is aiming to double its headcount next year and hit the £2m turnover mark by May 2020 after investing in larger premises.

Haddleton Legal was launched in September 2017 by James Haddleton, who was previously managing partner and head of commercial litigation at DWF in Leeds and in-house legal counsel for pharmaceutical group Clinigen.

Now with 14 lawyers, the firm has moved headquarters to newly refurbished office space in Windsor House in the North Yorkshire town.

Haddleton Legal specialises in providing commercial law services including governance and compliance.

For the next year, the firm plans to recruit a further 12-15 qualified lawyers and continue to invest in the development of its e-learning platform of legal and compliance training.

Haddleton said: “Each and every one of our lawyers has over 10 years of experience post qualification and 95% have worked as in-house counsel which gives them a solid understanding of the corporate environment.

“We are also very proud of the fact that over 80% of our lawyers are women, many of whom have been able to combine family life with a return to their careers because of our commitment to flexible working.”
