People: CBI appoints new regional director; Housebuilder bolsters leadership team; and more

The CBI has appointed Emily Moncuit as its new Associate Regional Director in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Moncuit joins the CBI following a career within the tender and procurement sectors, government regeneration, charity and community engagement industries, as well as running her own event management and communications business.

She will work alongside CBI Regional Director Beckie Hart in representing the views of businesses across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Moncuit: “I am excited to be joining the CBI at what is a critical time for the business community in Yorkshire and the Humber.

“So much is changing within the private and public sector and now, more than ever, the ability to facilitate effective debate and discussion that can be used to steer positive prosperous outcomes for the region’s businesses is crucial.

“I am looking forward to growing our presence in the region as well as being part of the amazing team of people that make positive change a reality.”

Beckie Hart, Regional Director, added: “Emily joins us at an exciting and important time for the region. This year we are focused on ensuring the CBI support and grow our membership base and keeping domestic policy high on the agenda amidst the current international uncertainty around Brexit.

Miller Homes has made two new senior appointments to strengthen its leadership team in Yorkshire.

The housebuilder has appointed Justin Tranmere as its Commercial Director and Dave Hoyland as its Technical Director.

Tranmere and Hoyland join other Directors Neil Reaney and Debbie Whittingham, who are responsible for land and sales portfolios respectively.

Miller Homes currently has ten development located across Yorkshire. There is a selection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes available in locations from Skipton in the West to Thorpe Willoughby in the East and Sheffield in the South to Boston Spa in the North.

The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce has expanded its team with the appointment of a new Finance Administrator and Certification & Customer Service Co-ordinator.

The appointment of Noreen Bi and Saira Khan follows on from the chamber’s recent rebrand to provide more district specific representation across the Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield districts.

As finance administrator, Bi will be responsible for the day to day financial and administration duties, such as bank reconciliations, invoicing, staff expenses and BACS payments.

She said: “I am extremely fortunate to be working with a confident and compassionate Chamber, where support from peers is endless. The sense of motivation and dedication is exactly what attracts me to the Chamber.”

As Certification & Customer Service Co-ordinator, Khan’s main responsibilities will be printing European certificates of origin, customs documentation and Arab certificates, spot-checking all documentation and liaising with customers, handling documentation for embassies, and providing information to businesses to support their international trade needs.

Khan added: “I am delighted to be a part of the Chamber team. Helping local businesses thrive means a lot to me. Seeing businesses grow and achieve their goals, especially in today’s economy is so rewarding.”
