Listed healthcare investor snaps up medical centre developer for £5.4m

The owner of a medical centre in Leeds has been acquired by specialist healthcare investor, Primary Healthcare Properties , in a deal worth £5.4m.

Chapeloak Investment developed Oakwood Lane Medical Centre, which is now occupied by the Oakwood Lane Medical Practice and pharmacy operator Kami Healthcare.

Dacres Commercial and Schofield Sweeney acted for the shareholders of Chapeloak Investments.

Doctor Jason Broch of Chapeloak said: “We were hugely impressed by the commitment of the teams at Dacres and Schofield Sweeney to support us through the sale process.”

David Ogilvie of Dacres added: “There was significant interest from a number of institutional investors in this high quality medical centre investment, confirming the appetite for long term secure rental income backed by the government.”

Rob Hayes, head of the healthcare team at Schofield Sweeney, also said: “It was great to work with Dacres and Chapeloak to deliver this disposal of one of the most successful modern Health Centre developments in Leeds.”

Assisting Rob Hayes with the transaction were corporate lawyers Dan Bisby, Chris Blantern and Helen Matthews with tax advice from John Feaster and Melissa Wood.
