Two new lettings secured at 55,000 sq ft former textile mill

The Mabgate Mills business park in Leeds is expanding with an additional two new companies.

Eat & Breathe, the Manchester-based  food photography studio, has agreed a five year-lease on 3,922 sq ft of space on the first floor of Mill 1.

The company will open a second studio which will specialise as a food photography, video and unique food presentation facility.

In addition, data consultancy The Data Shed is expanding its presence at the park by taking a further 4,121 sq ft on the fourth floor.

The fully refurbished 55,000 sq ft former textile mill is now home to over 30 businesses.

These two new lettings were secured jointly by Carter Towler and Atkinson Associates.

Harriet Lawon, Carter Towler graduate surveyor, said: “Eat & Breathe wanted a unique space in Leeds that provided them with the opportunity to incorporate purpose-built food and drink facilities, whilst having an airy space for photography. We’re delighted that they have chosen Mabgate Mills.

“The facilities available are proving to be very popular with businesses of all sizes particularly those involved in the creative and IT sectors. It’s not just because of how well the mill buildings have been revamped and the flexible tenancy packages but also because of the locality.

“All the new developments and amenities springing up are having a very positive impact – there really is a buzz about this southern part of the city centre!”

Siobhan Riley of joint agents Atkinson Associates added: “It is great to see the significant speculative investment in Mabgate Mills bearing fruit.  It is so satisfying to witness the regeneration of a once tired mill complex”.

Phil Marshall, managing director at Eat & Breathe, also said: “Leeds is the perfect location for us to span the North across the two studios and having a thriving on-trade creates more opportunities.

“It is central to the Northern corridor of the M62 which provides a location that is easily accessible for all our clients. We’re looking forward to opening the studio in Spring 2019 and providing a unique space for our clients to create, plan and innovate”.
