Inaugural Business of Poker night deals evening of fun and fundraising

Victoria Gate Casino played host to TheBusinessDesk.com’s inaugural Business of Poker evening, when guests played poker to find the region’s corporate champion.

The event, hosted in conjunction with Banana Kick, saw more than 30 people from across the Yorkshire business community with a eclectic mix of businesses.

After an evening where there was an ever changing leader-board, James Palfrey-Smith of Spring FF&E was named champion. The overacrching winner of the night was The Leeds Community Foundation, with £450 raising from ticket sales for the cause.

Victoria Gate Casino kicked off proceedings with a champagne style arrival which was followed by networking at the Curve Bar. After everyone became acquainted, the poker began and slowly 30 became a final table of eight individuals playing to win the trophy and to be crowned the Corporate Poker champion.

Graham Dyson, of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “Special thanks to Brad and the team at Victoria Gate Casino and to Banana Kick for their support; it was a great evening and we hope to repeat it again in the near future.”
