Wensleydale inn sold to first-time publicans

A Wensleydale inn has been acquired by first-time publicans.

Paul and Christine Hornsby have acquired The Old Horn Inn at Spennithorne near Leyburn in North Yorkshire of a guide price of £245,000.

The Old Horn Inn consists of a bar with ceiling beams and open fire as well as a dining room, usually laid to seat 20 covers.

The Yorkshire Dales inn was previously owned by Jeff and Di Forster, who acquired the property in 2006 and decided to sell in order to retire.

Nick Thomas of Fleurets brokered the transaction and commented: “Having dealt with the sale when Jeff and Di acquired the Old Horn back in 2006, it was nice to have helped them once again.”

“Paul and Christine are looking forward to their first venture in the licenced trade with plans already a foot to fine tune the business, although with an emphasis on keeping things simple, sourcing local food and drink products.
