Maintenance company secures new contract to manage educational sites

A Pudsey-based business has won a three-year contract to manage educational facilities across 11 sites in Leeds following a competitive tender process.

Leeds City College and Leeds College of Music’s buildings will be maintained until 2022 by G&H Maintenance.

The firm will be responsible for planned, reactive and emergency call out maintenance, along with small works including electrical installation condition reports and duct-work cleaning.

G&H Maintenance will also ensure the sites are fully compliant with regulations and will issue certification of services such as natural gas, refrigeration and water hygiene.

Director at the company, David Ridsdale, said: “We have worked with Leeds City College since 2011 so we are delighted to have extended this relationship for another three years.

“Being appointed to also manage the maintenance of two sites at Leeds College of Music is testimony to the successful nature of our work over the past eight years.

“We will continue to focus on delivering a strategic maintenance plan that will save the colleges money and mean their mechanical and electrical services are operating most efficiently.

“At Leeds College of Music for example, there are studios, performance spaces, Mac labs and a DJ suite – which stay open until 3am during term-time.

“Therefore it is very important lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and all the other mechanical and electrical services are working at their best without disruption in order to create the right environment for students to learn in.”
