People: Promotion at NorthEdge; Listed firm appoints CFO; New BDM at specialist firm; and more

NorthEdge Capital has announced the promotion of Yorkshire-based Nicola McQuaid to Investment Director, as the firm continues to strengthen its presence across the regional private equity market.

McQuaid joined NorthEdge in 2016, having worked as part of a PE backed management team at JLA and in M&A advisory prior to this.  She has brought this experience to her role at NorthEdge, leveraging an understanding of both the advisory and management perspective.

She has been involved in a range of new investments at NorthEdge and has played a significant role in supporting investee companies deliver on their growth plans.

McQuaid has been a key member of the team, driving the firm’s investment strategy and building on her relationships across Yorkshire and the North East.  In her new role, she will continue to work closely with management teams and intermediaries to deliver investment opportunities and value creation in investee companies.

Her promotion follows the appointments of Lloyd Williams as Director and Maninder Minhas as Investment Manager to the firm’s Yorkshire-based team earlier this year.

AIM-listed Tissue Regenix Group, the regenerative medical devices company, has appointed Mike Barker as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Barker will join the Group as CFO and as an Executive Director on the Board with immediate effect having supported Tissue Regenix since the beginning of the year as interim Finance Director.

A Chartered Accountant for over 20 years, he has experience of both AIM listed and private businesses. After training with Deloitte, he spent 10 years in their corporate finance advisory business working extensively on private equity transactions before setting up his own consultancy business to assist SMEs in the delivery of their strategic plans.

During this time, he worked closely with the management team of Quantum Pharma to deliver strategic projects before holding the position of Group Corporate Development Director.

Ring, the Leeds-based lighting and automotive aftermarket specialist, has appointed Nathan Packer as Business Development Manager, supporting the company’s continued growth throughout the UK.

Responsible for generating business opportunities for the retail team, Packer will bring new customers onboard and maintain existing relationships by introducing a range of product lines while also offering continued support.

This appointment follows on from the announcement that German lighting group Osram completed its acquisition of Ring on May 1 2019.

Packer said:  “With the recent takeover by Osram, Ring definitely has a bright future and I am really excited to be part of that. Alongside this, Ring’s extensive product offering made this position extremely attractive to me and I am confident I will be able to build on the great work that is already going on.

With a background working as a Territory Sales Manager for the North of England and Ireland for Stanley Black and Decker, he will use his experience to support Ring in maintaining its position as one of the market leading automotive specialists in the UK and throughout Europe.

iSource Group, the IT, digital and change management recruitment specialist, has announced a duo of promotions which will further strengthen its specialist Data and Analytics team.

Assuming the position of Senior Recruitment Consultant, both Alistair Holmes and Jack Dagwell will take on a more prominent role within their department, becoming accountable for the overall performance of the wider team.

The pair will also become an important port of call when it comes to the recruitment and training of junior members of staff.
