New entrant to self-storage market secures six-figure investment
A new entrant to the self-storage market in Yorkshire has secured a six-figure investment to fund its initial growth phase.
My Secure Self Store.com will open its first site in Brighouse in September and aims to offer a “better self-storage experience.”
Venturian Funding & Investment Group has completed the substantial six-figure investment.
My Secure Self Store.com says its has established a model that seeks to address some of the storage frustrations experienced by the founders previously.
As a result, the newly refurbished facility on Birds Royd Lane will boast wholly indoor storage using mostly shipping containers to provide regular and easy access storage units. In addition, as well as the usual CCTV and access control systems, My Secure is investing in on-site 24/7 manned securit.
Units from 16 sq ft to 160 sq ft are available.
Venturian has used its property investment and funding businesses to provide My Secure with the facility itself as well as the funding to fit out the facility and ongoing working capital to be used in the development of its storage concept. Funding has also been ring-fenced for the expansion of the business.
Paul Halliday, an investment director at Venturian, commented “This has not been a conventional investment in many ways. However, we are pleased to be involved with My Secure from the outset and to support the business using the different parts of our investment business.
“My Secure’s plan is clear for the next few years and we see that it’s concept has some exciting differences to the usual storage models. We believe these USPs can be used to its advantage and allow it to look at opportunities to provide storage solutions in a different way to others. We are looking forward to seeing the business develop quickly.”
