People: Associate Solicitor appointed; New Director of Practice at veterinary firm; Events Executive recruited; and more

Expanding Huddersfield-based law firm, Ridley and Hall, is growing its specialist private client team with the appointment of Deborah Kaye as an Associate Solicitor.

With 20 years’ experience dealing with private client matters, Kaye has spent the majority of her career working at Ramsdens Solicitors and is well known in the Holme Valley having spent 14 years working from the firm’s Holmfirth branch office. She joins from LCF Law in Bradford where she spent the last four years.

She has practiced in all areas of private client work including both pre and post-death matters such as Wills, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance tax planning, advising the elderly, trusts and probate.

Emma Pearmaine, Managing Director at Ridley and Hall, said: “Having established a name for ourselves as experts in private client work, including being shortlisted in 2018 for a national and international industry award with Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP), we are undergoing a period of sustained growth, largely as a result of client recommendation.

Veterinary services company CVS said Ben Jacklin has been appointed to the role of Director of Practice Operations.

Jacklin has more recently held the role of Small Animal Division Operations Director and previously that of Equine Director.

As an RCVS and European Specialist in Equine Surgery he joined CVS originally as Clinical Director at Oaklands Equine Hospital in North Yorkshire, and has continued to perform clinical work at the hospital throughout, and will continue to do so in his new role.

The Director of Practice Operations role is responsible for all areas of the veterinary practice division within CVS, including clinical standards, people leadership, and commercial performance.

Charlotte Pugh has been appointed to the role of Small Animal Director, previously held by Jacklin, having been a Commercial and Hub Operations Director in the small animal division since 2017.

Events agency, The Secret Event Service has boosted its team with a new appointment. Natalia Bate has joined the team as an Events Executive and has already hit the ground running in her first week by helping to deliver an event at Burberry’s Leeds office for Smart Works Leeds.

She said: “I am so thrilled to have joined the team at The Secret Event Service and I’m looking forward to putting into practice everything I have learnt about events over the course of the last few years of studying.”

Bate joins the team to support and nurture the growing client base at The Secret Event Service and will work on running both internal events, such as the upcoming Event Marketing Meet Up, as well as client events.
