Traffic Alert: Long delays on M1 following collision

The M1 in South Yorkshire currently has delays of at least 65 minutes from J35A to J35, covering several miles of the southbound carriageway.

The delays are due to a road traffic collision and recovery operation, with lanes three and four closed. Highways England has resources deployed to restore normal conditions as soon as possible.

For traffic approaching the delays locally, motorists are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and they may wish to re-route or delay their journey.

If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, drivers may wish to change their strategic route via the M62 or A1(M), allow extra travel time and follow guidance from on-road variable message signs and media.
