Jobs created as £3m clinic opens

Swift Referrals, a specialist referral veterinary practice based in Wetherby, has announced a new brand and officially opened its doors to a state-of-the-art £3m clinic for the first time.

The launch of the clinic has created 14 new jobs. The management team has ambitious growth plans, with a recruitment drive planned for 2020 where it hopes to double the expert workforce.

Swift Referrals has a multi-disciplined team specialising in Advanced Imaging, Internal Medicines, Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery and Neurology. If a primary vet decides that they are not able to offer the right level of expertise, or they don’t have the appropriate facilities at the general practice, they will recommend pets to be seen by a specialist consultant at a referral centre like Swift Referrals.

Dr Stuart Cooke, one of Swift Referrals’ founders, directors and surgeons, said: “We’re delighted to launch Swift Referrals, and would like to thank everyone who helped us get here.

“We now house some of the most advanced equipment in the continent, from the very best advanced imaging machines, to specialist treatment and aftercare rooms. We also have some of the most skilled veterinary experts operating in them, day in and day out. Our clinicians are leaders in their field of expertise, with years of experience and very advanced training.

“The veterinary services we provide focus on treating a large number of diseases and conditions, from the fairly straightforward to the very complex.

“With a diverse range of specialisms on hand, we can offer some of the most advanced treatments available, working closely together across departments to deliver truly extraordinary levels of care. The new clinic has been created to facilitate the best care possible and we can’t wait to offer our services to patients in the coming weeks.”

The practice will boast some of the most advanced equipment in Europe, including a Siemens 128 slice CT scanner and a Siemens 1.5T Aera MRI scanner. It also has three dedicated environmentally-controlled theatres, complete with CT and MRI scanning capabilities. Each theatre is equipped with the highest quality human-grade equipment, including harmonic scalpel, digital x-ray and endoscopy.
