Growing manufacturer relocates to larger business park property

The expansion of West Yorkshire company PTFE Flex has been hailed by Bradford-based real estate company Frank Marshall Estates.

PTFE Flex have just relocated to the Bridge Business Park in Colne Bridge Road, off the main A62 Leeds Road and close to Junction 25 of the M62, in Huddersfield.

The company, which manufacturers PTFE hose assemblies, is moving into a high-quality 7,000 sq ft industrial property unit on the business park.

It has relocated from a smaller unit Wellington Business Park in Bradford. Both business parks are owned by Frank Marshall Estates.

Edward Marshall, of Frank Marshall Estates, said: “It gives us enormous pleasure to nurture and help companies such as PTFE Flex to grow and prosper.

“We have followed the progress of the company from the very outset and have been incredibly impressed by the success it has enjoyed and the impression it has made on its specific sector.

“We believe strongly that – as landlords – we have a responsibility to our tenants. If we can help them, we will. We don’t subscribe to the cynical ‘dog-eats-dog’ view of society, where it’s everyone for themselves. That’s often a recipe for disaster.

“It’s much more sensible to work together and to make the most of opportunities which arise. In PTFE Flex’s case, it became obvious that they had outgrown their premises in Bradford and when we suggested a unit at our new business park in Huddersfield, they felt it was a perfect solution.

“This was a solution which suited everyone. This is an important step in PTFE Flex’s journey and we will be supporting them all the way as they settle into their new premises at the Bridge Business Park.”

Terence “Chad” Chadwick, managing director of PTFE Flex, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Frank Marshall Estates, who have been our landlords from the very start in 2013. They helped us at our previous premises at Wellington Park Business Park in Bradford, and have supported us as our business has expanded.

“Ultimately we have outgrown our base at Wellington Park and moving to the Bridge Business Park seemed the obvious solution.

“We trust Edward and Jimmy Marshall of Frank Marshall Estates completely and it made perfect sense to move to their state-of-the-art new business park.

“The look and quality of our new building is superb, which fits in perfectly with our aspirations for the company.  The location, meanwhile, is perfect. So it’s just right for us, providing an excellent base from where we can continue to expand and flourish.”

PTFE Flex specialise in all aspects of PTFE (polytetrafluroethylene-teflon) assembly and associated products.

The company is fully equipped to handle all aspects of PTFE assembly from production, right through to testing, certification and traceability.

Edward Marshall added: “Although we have extensive interests in West Yorkshire, the Bridge Business Park is our first major development in Huddersfield, one of the county’s foremost towns with a splendid industrial history.

“We are proud to be contributing to the area’s economy, by building bespoke business/industrial units and creating jobs. We are committed to the town.”

Jonathan O’Connor, of West Yorkshire property consultancy Walker Singleton, which is marketing the site for Frank Marshall Estates, said: “The success of the Bridge Business Park is well-deserved.

“The quality of the units is exceptional, with superb workmanship. It was brave of Frank Marshall Estates to develop speculatively, but that decision has paid off handsomely.”

Headline rents on the park are £8 per sq ft. Only Unit 4, comprising 6,000 sq ft, is now unoccupied.

Simon Mydlowski, a partner in Leeds law firm Gordons, has provided legal advice on these deals and is part of the letting team. The joint agents on the Bridge Business Park are the Leeds office of Carter Towler.
