New premises unveiled for asset and data disposal business

An IT asset and data disposal company based in Manvers, Rotherham, has launched a new secure processing centre.

S2S, which not only securely disposes of data but also hardware, welcomed ex-England, Sheffield United and Leeds United player, Tony Currie, to officially open the facility.

In the last few years the business has doubled its turnover from nearly £2m to £4m.

The firm, which was established in 1989, says it is on track to continue this level of growth servicing clients in the financial, retail and SME sectors with its data security solutions and safe and accredited hardware disposal.

Currie said: “I was delighted to attend this event and support this pioneering company who are not only sealing their place in helping to tackle a global problem but are proud of their local roots and their place in the local community.

“It was great to see so many colleagues, friends and customers join them and see that a new era for S2S has begun in helping businesses deal with these ongoing and escalating issues regarding disposal of data and the associated hardware.”

The opening event also supported the company’s two chosen charities – Cash for Kids and Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract.

S2S has a ‘zero to landfill’ policy, meaning it recycles over 3,000 tonnes of material each quarter.

All materials are then reused and recycled into other products including Tarmac. S2S has also refurbished IT equipment and donated it to help local charities, either to be to re-used internally or re-sold for profit.

Grant Barton, Ddirector of S2S Group, said: “There has been a tangible shift in recent years regarding how we dispose of our ‘throw away’ items and our business model is set to support this continued growth.

“Our new premises will allow us to double the volume of assets we process and will cement our future in the local economy for many years to come.”

Currie added: “It is the responsibility of us all to be aware of the issues facing our world and to do whatever we can to ensure waste is disposed of responsibly and wherever possible, reused and recycled.

“I wish S2S every success for the future and congratulate them on their forward-thinking business portfolio and operations.”
