Weekender: City bar wins celebrity approval

A bar which opened this summer has been helping to put Leeds back on the celebrity circuit.

Dollhouse, in Hirst’s Yard, made its debut in early August, just in time for the Leeds Pride festival.

Regulars at the venue include pop stars, footballers and influencers. In less than four months the bar have seen over 20,000 people come through its doors and acquired more than 28,000 followers on Instagram.

Recent attendees include Spice Girl Mel B, rapper Aitch, Coronation Street stars, hip hop producer Charlie Sloth and fashionista and mega-influencer Kaz Crossley.

Leeds United football player Kalvin Phillips is another regular, as are socialite sisters Daisy and Ellie O’Donnell.

The weekly Dolly’s Brunch, which runs every Saturday daytime, has become another floor filler with its combination of divine handmade desserts, super hot soundtrack and bottomless drinks.

Dollhouse’s music policy takes customers on a journey through the finest house and R&B, giving people the best of both from a solid team of resident DJs and renowned names like Amine Edge & Dance, Colin Francis and DJ Russke.

Founders Tom Zanetti and Kane Towning are looking forward to what is shaping up to be a memorable festive season for their brand.

The bar will round off 2019 with its DOLLS NYE Ball, which is on its way to selling out all of its VIP tables.

DJ and Dollhouse co-owner Kane Towning said: “Whilst we always believed in the concept and our passion to make it work; nothing could prepare us for the whirlwind success we’ve enjoyed since day one.

“We’re humbled that the party people of Leeds and beyond, celebrity or not, have taken Dollhouse to their hearts and made this brand what it is today.’’

“Our mission is to make people feel better than they did before walking in and seeing the hundreds of smiling faces each weekend is proof we are achieving this.

“The only way we can think to celebrate is to throw the biggest festive parties the city has ever seen, so brace yourselves – it’s going to be quite a December and the only place to be this New Year’s Eve in Leeds.’’
