Construction arm of property group moves into residential sector

Caddick Construction, the building business of Caddrick Group is moving into the residential sector after being appointed onto the EN:Procure Affordable and Mixed Tenure New Building Housing Framework for Yorkshire and Humber.

Led by Efficiency North, the £340m framework will offer a leading-edge supply chain of construction companies delivering site preparation, remediation, civil engineering and infrastructure works, design, new build construction, refurbishment and the development of a variety of properties.

This a strategic move by the company has also seen it appoint Richard Greenwood as its new residential development manager with responsibility for managing and growing the company’s foothold in the sector.

Greenwood has more than 23 years of construction experience, latterly with Kier Living and has successfully led frameworks with the Homes and Communities Agency now Homes England and Innovation Chain North West.

He said: “The construction market focus has moved to beds and sheds and with Caddick’s extensive experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, design and build, it was a logical move to expand into the residential sector.

“Securing a place on this £340million framework is fantastic and we look forward to working with Efficiency North and its partners to deliver high-quality social housing and regenerate local communities across the region.”

This expansion follows a strong 2018/19 financial year which finished in August, following the delivery of award-winning flagship projects such as the £42million Emerald Headingley Stadium.
