Weekender: Railway station chosen for city’s first LEON restaurant

Leeds Railway Station has been selected as the first location for the rollout of LEON’s new digital ordering concept, as the chain opens its first restaurant in the city on 3 December.

The restaurant will join other brands on the station concourse which is currently being renovated.

It will feature LEON’s new ordering system that will see guests request all menu items through digital ordering screens to then be collected at the counter.

The restaurant will also have dishes available exclusively in the Leeds restaurant, including the new Bacon & Avocado Egg Pot and the Big Box Lentil Masala.

These dishes will be available alongside LEON classics such as the best-selling GFC Nuggets, the vegan LoVe Burger and fan favourite, vegan Jack Wings.

The opening will bring LEON’s restaurant total to 74 across the UK, US and Europe with a new look and feel.

Copper lighting, wooden-clad walls and wall murals will greet guests, as well as an indoor and outdoor concourse seating area creating additional space for commuters at the station.

Adam Blaker, LEON’s property director, said: “Our first Leeds opening lands in December, joining an already vibrant food scene in the city.

“Fans have been requesting a LEON in Leeds through our social media for such a long time and we’re glad we can finally fulfil this: with not just any LEON but the first-ever digital LEON.

“The station is very busy and this digital ordering system will make it easier for everyone to get their favourites as quickly as possible, without missing a train!”
