Tech business supports its expansion with office move

Growing Sheffield tech firm, Razor, has relocated its offices to Speedwell Works in Sidney Street.

The property is part of Elmsdale Estates’ Alsop Fields development. Razor has moved to facilitate growth plans for the business.

Established in Sheffield in 2009, Razor helps its clients prosper by delivering leading-edge technology. Originally founded by Jamie Hinton and Steve Trotter as a side project, the venture proved so successful that in 2014, it became a full-time occupation.

Since then the business has expanded significantly. Now a Microsoft Gold Partner and with a team of 24 Razor is growing its client base.

It works with a diverse range of clients, including a FTSE 100 aerospace manufacturer, utilities plc South Staffs Water and financial services business Fleetcor.

Dale Fixter, director at City Estates, said: “We’re delighted that Razor has become our latest commercial tenant at our innovative Speedwell Works development in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter.

“It further underlines the success that the Alsop Fields project has enjoyed since it first opened in 2017.”

Jamie Hinton, CEO and founder at Razor, added: “It’s a really exciting time for Razor to be expanding the business in Sheffield. The new office boasts a modern, vibrant design which is extremely motivating for the team and helps to reflect the quality of the work we do.

“It helps boost morale and productivity internally, whilst also offering a professional space to welcome visitors and clients into. We are surrounded by a strong business community down at Speedwell Works and we are looking forward to a long, prosperous future here.”
